I can’t believe I’ve lived in London for 5 years before trying
Roka (Charlotte Street branch). We tried out the premium tasting menu and it was very good.

Roka: Sashimi

Roka: Sashimi

Roka: Foie Gras
The quail, foie gras, sashimi, duck, and dessert platter at Roka were all excellent dishes, bursting with flavour and texture. The decor is lovely, lot’s of light (because of the big windows). If you get the chance, ask to be seating by the counter. That way you get to sit next to your partner and watch the chefs prepare the hot dishes.

Roka: Quail

Roka: Hamachi

Roka: Cod dumpling
The service at
Roka is attentive (our waiter explained the dishes to us and made some good spirit recommendations).

Roka: Duck barbecue

Roka: Lamb chops

Roka: Dessert platter
All in all,
Roka has to be considered one of the best restaurants in London (not just Asian restaurants). I’ll definitely be back!
Overall rating of
Roka: 9.5/10

Things that I consider important when choosing a restaurant:
My standards tend to be quite high when it comes to food and am only willing to concede a little when ruffing it in a remote area. Things I look for are tasty food, interesting flavour combinations, price/quality balance and good service.
